The Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) is a standardized, global exam that measures and certifies the Japanese language proficiency of non-native speakers across five levels: N5, N4, N3, N2, and N1. It is the world’s most widely recognized certification for measuring Japanese language skills.
It reflects the growing global interest in Japan’s culture, education system, and career opportunities. The JLPT helps you officially validate your Japanese proficiency, track your learning progress, and demonstrate your language ability to universities, employers, and immigration authorities — from beginner to advanced professional levels.
The examination is generally conducted twice a year, in July and December, usually held on the first Sunday at designated JLPT examination centres across India.

A2 for SSW
The JFT-Basic (Japan Foundation Test for Basic Japanese) is a computer-based exam designed to assess the Japanese language proficiency of foreigners who plan to live and work in Japan. It primarily evaluates whether you can handle practical, everyday conversations and manage daily life without difficulty.
The JFT-Basic is conducted multiple times throughout the year at authorised Computer-Based Testing (CBT) centres, allowing candidates greater flexibility in choosing their examination date. The JFT A2 certificate is accepted as proof of Japanese language proficiency for many Specified Skilled Worker (SSW) visa categories in Japan.

What is the SSW Skill Test?
The Specified Skilled Worker (SSW) is a work visa introduced by the Government of Japan to address labour shortages in key industries. It enables eligible foreign nationals to work in Japan in sectors where skilled workers are in high demand.
To obtain an SSW Visa, candidates generally need to:
Qualify the JFT-Basic (A2) or JLPT N4 Japanese language examination.
Qualify the SSW examination for the selected sector.
